U’khand Congress to organise district level conclaves of workers

The Uttarakhand Congress has started gearing up for next year’s Lok Sabha elections. As part of the preparations, the party has made a plan to organise district level conclaves in all parts of the State. The vice president of the State Congress Mathura Dutt Joshi said that in view of the elections of Lok Sabha and that of the Urban Local Bodies (ULB), the party will organise district level conclaves of party workers. He said that the programme for holding these conclaves has been prepared on the orders of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara. 

Joshi said that the first such conclave will be held in Chamoli on November 16, similarly the conclaves will be organised in Rudraprayag on November 17 and Pauri on November 18. In Pauri the conclaves of workers of Nagar Congress Committee Srinagar and Mahanagar Kotdwar will also be organised jointly on November 18. On November 21 the Congress workers conclave will be organised in Tehri Garhwal while the joint convention of workers of Congress committees of Uttarkashi and Purola will be held in Uttarkashi on November 22. The programme of other districts will be declared soon.

 Joshi said that conclave will be held on November 25 in Champawat, November 26 in Pithoragarh, November 27 in Bageshwar, November 28 in Almora. He said that the PCC president Mahara will attend all these conclaves and will preside over the proceedings. 

Joshi said that the conclaves will be attended by office bearers of the district congress committees, chairpersons of block Congress, and ward members. Apart from them  former Member of Parliaments (MP), members of All India Congress Committees (AICC), PCC, MLAs, former MLAs, party candidates in Vidhan Sabha election, chairpersons of ancillary and frontal organisations, members, chairpersons of district Panchayats, members of municipals bodies, Block Pramukhs and members of panchayat bodies will also attend these meetings. Booth level workers and senior leaders of the party will be invited to the conclaves.

 Joshi said that the suggestions of the party cadre will be taken in these conclaves and preparations will be made for the upcoming elections.
