U’kashi police provide counselling to youths abusing substances

At a time when substance abuse is spreading at an alarming level across the State, the Uttarkashi police have identified substance addicts and provided counselling to them to encourage them to remain sober. The Udayan drive is aimed at rehabilitating those addicted to substance abuse and bring them back into the mainstream of society. According to the police, youths addicted to substance abuse were identified and called to the police station. They were provided counselling in front of their family members. They were informed in detail about the damage caused by substance abuse and provided guidance on how to give up their vices.

The Uttarkashi superintendent of police Arpan Yaduvanshi and inspector in-charge of the Uttarkashi Kotwali Amarjeet Singh headed the counselling. They told the youths that giving up drug addiction may be difficult but it is not impossible. They stressed on the power of a strong willpower for giving up vices. The police advised the youths to fulfill their targets and use their talents in the correct manner. The police will continue this drive to identify and provide counselling to people addicted to substance abuse, officials said.
