In protest against what they alleged as the deteriorating law and order situation in Haridwar district the Congress MLAs sat on Dharna outside the house in the corridor of the assembly on Wednesday. The Congress MLAs Bhuwan Kapdi, Manoj Tiwari, Anupama Rawat, Furkan Ahmed, Khusal Singh Adhikari and Harish Dhami sat on the Dharna before the start of the assembly session. Haridwar Rural MLA Anupama Rawat said that the Congress workers are being deliberately targeted and harassed by the police at the behest of the ruling party. She alleged that houses of the Congress workers have been targeted by the administration and demolished.
