UJVN Limited’s 120 MW Vyasi hydro power project achieved its annual target of financial year 2022-23 in December, 2022. UJVNL managing director  Sandeep Singhal said that under the guidance of Energy secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram and UJVNL chairperson Radha Raturi the power generation of the corporation has increased considerably and the work on new under-construction projects has gained momentum as well. He said that the Vyasi power project has surpassed its annual generation target of 322 million units for the financial year 2022-23. The Vyasi project has generated 322.203 million units of electricity upto December 23 approximately three months prior to the end of financial year which is a remarkable achievement. Talking about the project Singhal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated this 120 megawatt hydropower project of State and national importance. The revenue earned from the power generated by this project is solely owned by the State and thus lessens Uttarakhand’s dependency on other States and private companies for electricity which in turn saves the funds of the State, he said. Expressing happiness on the record generation Singhal gave credit to the hard work, dedication and refined work culture of the corporation officers and employees under the guidance of the Energy secretary and UJVNL chairperson.
