Two more dengue cases reported in Dehradun

Two new cases of dengue were reported in the Dehradun district on Thursday. The Dehradun Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma said that two individuals tested positive on Thursday, with both of them being admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. This brings the total number of confirmed dengue cases (ELISA-positive) in the district to 80, which includes 46 cases reported in Dehradun and 34 cases from other districts or states.

Dr Sharma further informed that there are currently seven active patients, with five hospitalised at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, one at Graphic Era Hospital and one at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC). On Thursday alone, 104 dengue samples were collected, raising the cumulative total to 5,859 samples collected so far.

Additionally, on Thursday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and health department volunteers conducted 14,345 house surveys to check for mosquito larvae. Among these, 68 houses tested positive for larvae. The health department has completed a total of 6,03138 house surveys, with 1,810 of those showing positive results. Similarly, on Thursday, ASHA workers and volunteers inspected 1,06586 containers, of which 85 were found to contain larvae. To date, they have surveyed 37,60872 containers, resulting in 2,251 testing positive.
