Two groups of G20 delegates to visit Uttarakhand: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that two groups of G20 delegates will be visiting Uttarakhand. Various meetings will be held to discuss aspects including the development of Uttarakhand during their visit. Dhami said this while speaking at the annual function of Jeevandeep Academy Gurukulam Vidyalay at Roorkee on Sunday.

The CM said that it is a matter of pride that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has been implemented in Uttarakhand. Stating that the government is committed to providing quality education to the youngsters of Uttarakhand, he said that NEP 2020 will lend new dimensions to both school and higher education. He further said that people from all sections will get opportunities to receive education on the basis of equality while skill development will be facilitated for students at the school level under NEP 2020. “A special roadmap has been prepared under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure a prosperous future for the youth. The State government is making all possible efforts under this roadmap to assist the youth to achieve their dreams at every level,” said Dhami.

He further said that in the future the distance between Roorkee and Delhi will be reduced and that Delhi will be about two hours away from Dehradun by road. A medical college is also being builtin Haridwar district, he added. He announced that a road will be constructed from Jeevandeep Ashram to the main road and that a hall will be built in the Gurukulam Vidyalaya. Dhami said that under the guidance of Swami Yateendranand Giri, the Jeevandeep Ashram has been doing commendable work in the social, cultural and spiritual spheres for many years. He said that the manner in which the Ashram provides free meals for the needy twice a day is inspiring, while also commending the free education provided in the Gurukulam to children from economically weak families. Local public representatives, students and members of the public were also present on the occasion.
