Student killed in road mishap

Three others injured, one critically

In latest Uttarakhand news, with accident spree continuing to take toll in the State, a student of Gurukul Kangri University was killed and three others were seriously injured as the car they were travelling in rammed into a tractor trolley parked on the roadside.  The accident happened on Dehradun-Delhi highway within the Jwalapur police station limits in Haridwar district. Police informed that due to the frenzied speed of the car,  its major part crashed into the tractor, adding that it took them time and efforts to pull out the youths from the mangled car and then they were rushed to hospital where one of them was declared brought dead and the condition of another youth was stated as critical.

Jwalapur Kotwali in-charge Kundan Singh Rana said that the deceased has been identified as Himanshu Mehar, a fourth year BMS student of Gurukul Kangri University who hailed from Haldwani in Nainital district. Those injured are- Digvijay Singh of Uttarkashi, Sudhanshu Kumar of Bijnor and Kuldeep Kumar of Saharanpur. Singh further said that the condition of Digvijay Singh was very critical. He added that the youths were in inebriated condition at the time of the accident.
