The police have arrested all three accused including two teenagers for the murder of 20-year-old Karan in Haridwar. The accused have been identified as Kapil Chaudhary (20), Sanskar Sharma (19) and Harshit Dhiman (19) who was arrested on Sunday within about five hours after police got information about the murder, said the Haridwar senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh. He said that the victim was shot at about 6 AM on Monday while he was asleep on a bench in Kankhal’s Hathipul Kotwali area. He was taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead. Footage from a CCTV camera installed in the area revealed that three people were involved in the murder and fled soon after shooting the victim. The SSP said that teams were formed to investigate the murder from every angle. It was revealed that 10 cases were registered against the deceased under charges like attempt to murder and the Goonda Act. He said that the locals revealed during the investigation that the deceased had a serious argument with Dhiman who lives nearby Vishnughat. The police nabbed him and he revealed in the interrogation that he had an argument with the deceased so he and his two accomplices killed him on Sunday morning, said Singh. The SSP also praised the police team for arresting culprits in less than 24 hours of the crime being reported and announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for the team.
