The body of an unidentified woman was found dumped in the bushes under suspicious circumstances near the IDPL Colony in Rishikesh on Thursday morning. The station house officer (SHO) of Rishikesh, Ravi Kumar informed that the police received a complaint about the body at about 11 am and on arriving at the scene, the body of the woman aged about 27-28 years old was found. She had possibly died about three days ago. He said, “We also found some luggage near her body which had some of her clothes, money, pieces of artificial jewellery and a train ticket.” He informed that according to the forensic team, there were no visible injury marks or any sign of struggle found on the body. He said, “Nothing can be said for certain. The body has been sent for post mortem and only after receiving the report can we clearly talk about other details.”
The SHO said that the police have not been able to identify the deceased yet. He said that the police have started the investigation and are trying to ascertain the woman’s details on the basis of the evidence found so far.
