Relief from heat- rain forecast in parts of State today

Thunderstorm warning for isolated places issued by meteorological centre

After days of hot weather, some parts of the state are forecast to experience some relief on Wednesday. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning about the likelihood of thunderstorm accompanied by lightning at isolated places in the state. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm is likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts and at isolated places in the remaining districts especially in the mountainous regions of the state today.

 The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with the possibility of thunder cloud development/ light rain occurring at some places. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 36 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places in the state on Tuesday were 36.6 degrees Celsius and 19.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.2 degrees Celsius and 21.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 27.9 degrees Celsius and 14.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 27.6 degrees Celsius and 16.6 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
