Tourists throng Nainital for weekend relief from heat

With the heat remaining oppressive in the plains, a steady of tourists is arriving in Nainital these days to seek much needed relief. The tourist numbers jumped up considerably on the weekend which brought cheer to those involved in various businesses connected to tourism. All the usual popular tourist spots in the city were packed with tourists on Saturday with all the small and large parking facilities here also being fully packed. Most of the small and larger hotels and lodges in the city were also fully occupied. Due to the large number of tourist vehicles, the police also had to struggle hard in order to maintain the traffic system in the city throughout the day. A large number of tourists enjoyed boating on the Naini lake while many visited Snow View, Kilbury, Saritatal, Kurpatal, Cave Garden, Himalaya Darshan, the zoo, Naina Devi temple, Hanumangarhi and Tiffin Top among other popular tourist spots. A number of tourists could be seen shopping on the Mall Road, Bhotiya market, Tibetan market, Pant Park and Bada Bazaar. Apart from the destinations in the city, a number of tourists could also be seen nearby destinations including Ghodakhal temple, Neeb Karoli Baba temple, Bhimtal and Naukuchiyatal among other popular destinations in the area.
