The police on Sunday morning found the body of a woman in Dehradun’s Raipur area. The body of the woman who appears to be about 25 to 30 years old was found by locals about two kilometres from the main Thano Road near Raipur’s Sauda Saroli, said the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar. He said that the Raipur police team reached the spot after getting the information at about 7 AM. They found the woman’s body lying near a drain on the roadside. The body had serious injuries on the forehead and head that show she died under suspicious circumstances. He said that the field unit along with experts were called at the crime scene to complete the necessary procedures and collect evidence. The police found nothing on the body that could help in identifying her. He said that the body has been kept in the mortuary of Deendayal Upadhyaya Hospital (Coronation). He said that the woman appeared to be between 25 and 30 years old and was 5.1 feet tall. She had a fair complexion and a star tattoo on her neck. She was wearing a white dress with a blue flower print on it. If anybody identifies her, please contact the police soon, said the SSP. On the question of whether the woman was sexually assaulted, he said that the police are investigating the matter and it will be too soon to make any statements without any proof. The culprits will be arrested soon, he added.
