Hitting out at the Opposition for going against every single decision of the Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asserted that those who lost “another source of black money” were protesting against the farm Bills.

“Those opposing farm laws are insulting farmers,” the Prime Minister said lashing out at the Opposition a day after Punjab Youth Congress workers set a tractor on fire near India Gate in the heart of Delhi during protests against the controversial farm laws.

“Several reforms, related to farmers, labourers and health, were brought during the recently concluded Parliament session. These reforms will strengthen labourers, youth, women, farmers of the nation. But the nation can see how some people are opposing it just for the sake of it,” Modi said while inaugurating  six development projects in Uttarakhand though video-conferencing which included water and sever cleaning projects and a museum.

Modi said the Opposition has been opposing every decision of his Government, including that is surgical-strikes and construction of Sardar Patel’s statue in Gujarat.

“They are insulting the farmers by setting fire to the machines and equipment that is worshipped by them,” he said.

The Prime Minister accused the Opposition of misleading farmers on the new farm laws including the Minimum Support Price (MSP) & its continuation.

“There will not only be MSP in the country but also the freedom for farmers to sell their produce anywhere. But some people are unable to tolerate this freedom. Their one more medium to earn black income is finished,” he said.

The Government has asserted that the new laws will free farmers from the middlemen and allow them to sell their products anywhere they want at a remunerative price.

The Congress-led-Opposition has alleged that the three farm laws passed by Parliament, last week, will hand over farming to the corporates through the contract farming.

The Modi-Government has said it is implementing what Congress has promised to the farmers in its 2019 manifesto.
