The Asian School celebrated the Harela festival on Monday with the students from classes I to V planting saplings in the school premises. The principal of the school Ruchi Pradhan Datta along with many teachers was present at the plantation ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Datta said that planting saplings on this day amounts to expressing gratitude to nature. She urged the students to take a pledge to save the environment. Dwelling on the importance of celebrating this festival, she said that this festival of Uttarakhand promotes the importance of conservation of environment.
