Terming the terrorist attack on pilgrims in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir as an act of cowardice, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has said that the government should work out a strategy to teach a lesson to terrorists and their supporters. He said that the attack on pilgrims is highly condemnable and the entire country is standing united against the act of the terrorists. He said that the Congress party supports any decisive action planned by the government against the terrorists. He said that on one hand the terrorist activities are increasing in Kashmir valley and on the other the ceasefire violations on the border are also on the rise.

Taking a dig at the Union government, Mahara said that the terrorists were engaged in the heinous act of attacking the pilgrims when the Prime Minister of the country was taking oath. He said that the government should fix the responsibility of the intelligence failure which resulted in the attack. Mahara said that PM Modi had claimed that no incident of terrorist attack will happen in the country after the abrogation of article 370 of the constitution but the incidents are continuing.  He said that the PM has failed in getting the Pulwama attack investigated which is very unfortunate.
