Temperatures continue to rise across State

Even though high altitude regions in the state are still covered in snow, temperatures in other parts of the state have continued to rise steadily. The maximum and minimum temperatures are consistently rising in both the plains and mountainous regions of the state. In the provisional state capital Dehradun, the maximum temperature on Sunday was 30.4 degrees Celsius- a departure of four degrees Celsius from normal while the minimum temperature was 14.6 degrees Celsius- a departure of two degrees Celsius from the normal. Similarly in Mukteshwar, which had experienced sub zero temperatures during the winter, the maximum temperature on Sunday was 21.4 degrees Celsius- a departure of five degrees Celsius from normal, while the minimum temperature was 9.2 degrees Celsius- a departure of four degrees Celsius from the normal. The maximum and minimum temperature recorded in Pantnagar on the day were 29.9 degrees Celsius and 12.4 degrees Celsius respectively- both one degrees Celsius higher than normal, while in New Tehri it was 23.2 degrees Celsius and 11.8 degrees Celsius. The State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the state on Monday. The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius respectively on Monday.
