Teenager arrested for robbing man for drugs

The police arrested a teenager for robbing a man in the Doiwala area to buy drugs. The officials informed that a man named Pradeep Kumar Dimri registered a complaint that his son Ishank was returning to his home around midnight on Saturday from the Balawala area on his bike when two unknown persons requested him to drop them off at the Kuanwala area. When they reached Kuanwala, both accused beat him up and snatched his bike and mobile phone and fled from the spot.

The officials said that an FIR was registered against both accused and the police started the investigation. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh formed a team at Doiwala police station to investigate the case. The team activated the local information system and searched the areas around the incident site and nearby routes. After analysing the footage from the CCTV cameras installed on the road routes, the police started searching for the accused. The police on Sunday received the information about one of the accused and started checking in the Kuanwala area.

The police arrested the accused Abhishek Thapa (18) during the checking. The officials said that the police also recovered the complainant’s motorcycle from the accused. The accused told the police during the interrogation that he is a drug addict and lives in a slum in the Kuanwala area. He planned to rob a man mate at night along with his accomplice to buy drugs. The officials said that the police will soon present Thapa before the court. The team have also been raiding all possible places to nab the other accused involved in the robbery, they added.
