The Cooperatives, Health and Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat presided over a meeting of the Uttarakhand State Cooperative Council (USCS) on Tuesday. In the meeting it was decided that at least two meetings of the USCS would be organised in a year and a working plan would be prepared for publicising the schemes of the cooperative department till the block level.
In the review meeting the issues of the strengthening of the Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS), making the PACS multipurpose, setting of committees at Nyay Panchayat level, creation of State cadre of the secretaries and accountants were discussed. In the meeting the minister directed that the officers should ensure that the cooperative conferences and conclaves are organised from time to time for the schemes of the department. He also directed that at least two meetings in a year of the council should be held.
The meeting was attended by the chairman of the State cooperative federation Matbar Singh Rawat, managing director of the consumer federation Ira Upreti, UCRF MD Anand Shukla, joint director Neeraj Belwal and others.
