Students informed about IPR at KV-I

An event was held at Kendriya Vidyalaya-I here to make students aware under the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM). The event was organised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.

Speaking on the occasion, Patents and Designs examining officer Surjit Pal informed the students about various aspects of intellectual property. The basic purpose of granting intellectual property rights is to encourage human intellectual creativity and prevent its misuse. It includes five types of rights- patent, copyright, trade mark, design and geographical indication, he said.

Earlier, school principal VK Tyagi welcomed the chief guest and said that intellectual property rights is a legal concept that provides rights to the creators of the work for their intellectual creativity.
