Focus on education & future of children benefits society- CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the society gets benefitted and moves forward in positive direction by the works undertaken for enhancement of education and steps taken for a secure future of children. He said this while participating in an event at Ma Purnagiri college of education in Champawat on Thursday. He inaugurated the multipurpose educational campus of the college and participated in valedictory function of the scouts and guides camp of the college on the occasion.  Speaking on the occasion, the CM expressed confidence that the educational institute would help Champawat in becoming an education hub and would provide growth opportunities for the youth. Dhami said that he is confident that Uttarakhand would become a leading state of the country in the future. He said that many works in the fields of education, health, tourism, agriculture and horticulture are being taken up in Champawat as pilot projects. Dhami said that many development projects are being undertaken in Champawat and the district would be made a model district in every sector.

Dhami said that transformation of 100 schools in Champawat district is being undertaken and a district library would be opened up in the area. He added that transformation of 400 schools would be undertaken in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes of the companies. Dhami who also is a member of State Assembly from Champawat announced that a sum of Rs 10 lakh would be given from his MLA Local Area Development Fund for the district library in Champawat. He added that libraries would be constructed in every block of the district.

The CM was welcomed by the boys and girls of scouts and guides who staged a cultural programme. The chairman of the Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation Kailash Gehtodi, president of district Panchayat Jyoti Rai, chairman of the college Krishna Singh Adhikari and others were present on the occasion.
