State government amends LTC rules for its employees

Bowing to the demand of the employees, the Uttarakhand government has made some changes in the leave travel concession (LTC) rules. The employees getting grade pay of Rs 5,400 have also been made eligible for air travel. In an order directed to all the head of departments, the secretary Finance Dilip Jawalkar said that the employees in the level 14 and above will be eligible for business class, AC first class rail travel and executive class chair car travel while those in level 10 to 13 will be eligible for economy class air ticket, AC first class and executive class chair travel. Similarly the employees from level 6 to 9 will be eligible for AC II class rail travel.

The employees in level 1 to 5 level will also be eligible for AC III class and AC chair car travel. The employee’s traveling by the road during the LTC will be eligible for AC/ Volvo buses.

 Expressing happiness at the GO on LTC, the president of State Employees Joint Federation Arun Pandey said that the State cabinet in its recent meeting had taken a decision regarding amendments in the LTC rules. Pandey said that the federation expresses its gratitude to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and finance secretary for accepting the demand of the employees on LTC.

He said that the State government should now take a positive decision on the demand of the employees on assured career progression (ACP) at the end of 10, 16 and 26 years of service and changes in the rates of the vehicle allowance.
