Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials that the State’s foundation day on November 9 should be celebrated at Uttarakhand Mahotsav. Programmes should be held from the state capital to the Nyay Panchayat level during the Uttarakhand Mahotsav which will be observed for one week. Dhami also spoke of presenting Uttarakhand Gaurav awards to personalities for their commendable contribution in various fields on the occasion. The chief minister issued these directions while chairing a meeting with senior officials here on Saturday.

The chief minister directed that programmes to be held during the Uttarakhand Mahotsav should be organised in a better manner. Instead of the number of events, the focus should be on organising events while ensuring quality and dignity. Seeking information through video link from commissioners and district magistrates about the events planned in the districts, Dhami said that in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aspirations for the state’s development, they should focus on using their discretion and experience for execution of development schemes and plans for making Uttarakhand one of the leading states of India. He stressed on the involvement of all in ensuring the all-round development of the state. The chief minister also stressed on preparing department-wise vision for the state’s development.
