Sri Lankan delegation takes digital governance tips from MDDA

A 40-member delegation of Sri Lankan administrative officers visited the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) headquarters in Dehradun and got to know about the works being done by the authority using digital technology on Monday. The group participated in a day-long workshop where they were briefed on the use of digital technology in the functioning of the authority. The delegation was welcomed by MDDA joint secretary Gaurav Chatwal who gave a detailed presentation on the authority’s working methods. Before arriving at the MDDA headquarters, the delegation had visited the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie. The officials informed that during the workshop, the visiting officers received presentations from MDDA experts on topics such as master planning, digital mapping and computerised e-services. The presentations also included discussions on the potential use of artificial intelligence in implementing public welfare schemes. The officials said that MDDA subject experts also shared information on how digital platforms and modern technology are being used to implement State government development projects on the ground. The session aimed to provide practical insights into the digital transformation underway within the urban planning and administrative framework of the region.
