In latest news from Uttarakhand, Sanjay Sanwal’s film Kannu, shot in Nainital, has been selected for screening at the premiere of the upcoming film festival of California, USA commencing from May 23. It is the only film representing the country at the film festival. Notably, this film was included in the Cannes Film Festival 2023. It has received more than 10 international awards so far aside from being nominated in about half a dozen international film festivals.
Senior artists of Nainital like Rajesh Arya, Anil Ghildiyal, Shabni Rana, Baljind Kaur and Dheeraj Goswami worked in the film.
