Covid-19 count increases to 77997 in U’khand

Four deaths, 424 fresh cases reported on Sunday.

The tally of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in Uttarakhand mounted to 77997 on Sunday with the state health department reporting 424 cases of the pandemic.  The death toll from the disease also increased to 1285 on the day as the death of four patients from Covid-19 was reported. The department discharged 346 patients of the disease from different hospitals after their recovery on Sunday. A total of 70634 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery percentage from the disease now stands at 90.56 and the sample positivity rate is 5.48 percent. 

Two patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at HNB Base hospital Srinagar on Sunday. One patient each succumbed to the disease at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital and Sushila Tiwari government hospital on the day.

Out of 346 patients’ discharged on Sunday, 142 were from Dehradun, 118 from Udham Singh Nagar and 29 from Bageshwar.

The authorities reported 171 fresh cases of the disease from Dehradun, 59 from Haridwar, 40 from Nainital, 28 each from Pauri and Pithoragarh, 20 from Udham Singh Nagar, 19 from Chamoli, 16 from Tehri, 13 from Rudraprayag, nine each from Almora, Bageshwar and Uttarkashi and three from Champawat on Sunday. 

The state now has 5223 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is maintaining its top position in the table of active cases with 1668 cases while with 566 active cases, Haridwar is at second spot.  Nainital is at third position with 504 active cases, Pithoragarh has 387, Pauri 370, Chamoli 350, Almora 290, Tehri 268,  Udham Singh Nagar 265, Uttarkashi 158, Champawat 156 and Bageshwar 151 active cases of the disease. With only 90 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag now is at the bottom of the table.
