Trying to make U’khand police smart- CM Dhami

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that smart police is the need of the time in today’s age of technology. He was speaking after flagging off a fleet of vehicles given to Uttarakhand police by the Hans foundation at his residence on Friday. He said that Uttarakhand police had done commendable work during the pandemic period and the police personnel did every possible effort to safeguard the people. He said that the state government wants the police to be smart and despite resource constraint efforts are being made in this direction. He said that the cooperation done by the Hans foundation in improving the police system of the state would help in improving public service.  He said that the Hans foundation is providing help to the state in every sector and it has given support to the state government in health, education and other important fields. He added that apart from health services the foundation helped people by providing foodgrain during the pandemic period. Dhami expressed his gratitude to the founders of Hans foundation Bhole ji Maharaj and Mata Mangla for the support they have given to the Uttarakhand police.

The foundation is providing vehicles to the Uttarakhand police for hill patrolling and emergency response. The foundation has decided to provide 101 such vehicles to the police and on Friday 21 vehicles were given which were flagged off by the CM.

Speaking on the occasion Mata Mangla said that the vehicles provided by the foundation for hill patrolling and emergency response would help the Uttarakhand police in discharging its duties. She assured that the foundation would provide every possible support in the sectors of health and security.

Expressing gratitude, the director general of police Ashok Kumar thanked Hans Foundation and its founders for the fleet of new vehicles. He said that these vehicles would help the Uttarakhand police in its duties of hill patrolling and emergency response. The DGP said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned smart policing and today is a direction in this step in Uttarakhand.
