Seven new cases of Covid-19 reported in Dehradun

Seven new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Dehradun district Friday. It is important to note that these cases are local, including three from Rishikesh, one from Sahaspur and three from Raipur. Stating this, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma said that with these new cases, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in the area has now reached 30. This total includes 22 local cases, seven cases involving migrants and one case from Haridwar.

Currently, there are six active Covid-19 cases in Dehradun and all are being cared for at home. The  samples of the seven persons who tested positive on Friday were collected some days ago and since then, one of the patients has been discharged.  Dr Sharma also said that 25 samples were tested for Covid-19 on Friday, bringing the overall number of samples tested so far to 220. Notably, there have been no reported deaths related to Covid-19 in Dehradun, he said.

It will be recalled that recently, in light of the recent increase in Covid-19 cases, the Health department has entered alert mode. As a response, they have recently issued a special advisory regarding Covid-19. Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar urged all citizens to avoid spreading rumors, act responsibly and adhere to the guidelines issued by the Health department.
