Section 144 enforced  around CBSE exam centres

In latest news from Uttarakhand, in view of the high school and intermediate board examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) beginning on February 15, the sub- divisional magistrate Bhatwari Brijesh Kumar Tiwari ordered imposition of prohibitory order under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) around the examination centres. The examinations will continue till April 3.   

Notably, CBSE examination centres have been set up at Kendriya Vidyalaya Uttarkashi, Rishiram Shikshan Sansthan, Joshiada and Atal Utkrisht Shaheed Vipin Shah Government Intercollege Bhatwari-all under Bhatawari block in Uttarkashi district.

As per the order issued, prohibition will remain in force within the radius of 200 metres of these examination centres from February 15 till the end of the examination. This will prohibit a person from coming within the 200 metre radius of the local examination centres with any kind of stick, knife, spear and firearms. Besides, there will be a complete ban on gathering of five or more persons in the designated areas. Plus, there will be a ban on public meetings, processions, rallies, sloganeering and use of loudhailers.
