Heavy rainfall warning issued for parts of State today

Even as various parts of the State received very light to heavy rain on Friday, the State meteorological centre has issued warnings regarding the possibility of heavy rains in some parts of the State. The meteorological centre issued a warning (alert) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in districts of Kumaon region and adjoining districts of Garhwal region on Saturday. It has also issued another warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of Garhwal region today. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of the State on Saturday. Light to moderate rain / thundershower are likely to occur at most places in the districts of Uttarakhand.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain/thundershower are likely to occur, which may be heavy/intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 25 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 28.7 degrees Celsius and 20.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 25.1 degrees Celsius and 21.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 12.4 degrees Celsius and 11.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar, 20.6 degrees Celsius and 14.9 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
