DLSA, police host legal literacy camp at college

In latest news from Uttarakhand, a joint team of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Uttarkashi Police hosted a legal literacy camp at the Government Post- Graduate College in Uttarkashi town where the attending students were made aware of the evils like substance abuse, cyber crimes and crimes against women and children. The secretary DLSA Shweta Rana Chauhan exhorted the students to focus on their careers completely and that was how they could stay safe from drug addition.  The in-charge of the district Women Counseling Cell dwelt on spiralling crimes against women and children as well as cyber crimes and urged the students to contact helpline numbers. Also, she informed them about the Gaura Shakti module of Uttarakhand Police App.

The experts present in the camp apprised the students of their legal rights and how to avail these for their protection.  The camp being an interactive one, the students asked questions and they were answered by the experts present.
