In latest Uttarakhand news, in another ghastly road accident, at least eight people were killed on the spot while two others were injured as the car they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge. The accident occurred in Pithoragarh district. As per information received, the car was coming from Shama in Bageshwar. After the eye-witnesses of the accident informed the Nachni police station, a police team rushed to the accident site and started rescue work. Police informed that the accident occurred when they were going to a temple to offer prayer. Police are yet to ascertain the exact cause of the accident though the stretch of the road where the mishap occurred was quite narrow. Police further informed that the death toll might rise, adding that the injured have been sent to hospital.
