Police have decided to take stern step regarding the fight that broke out in Sri Guru Ram Rai Medical College during a protest by the students. It is learnt that Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar has ordered the SSP Dehradun to lodge cases against those who indulged in violence. He further said that police would not tolerate attempts to create anarchy in educational institutions and would deal sternly with the accused. It may be mentioned here that the incident occurred during the protest being staged by the students against fee hike. During the protest some outsiders came to remove the protestors. They allegedly misbehaved and beat the protesting students. With things going out of control, the university authority called police and police intervention helped the situation calm down.
