Even as the plains continue to experience sweltering weather with no respite in sight in the near future, some parts in five of the mountainous districts of the state may experience rain on Friday. The State meteorological centre has also issued a warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with hail/lightning occurring at isolated places in Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts today.

According to the weather forecast, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm is likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts of the State today while dry weather is likely to prevail in remaining districts. Surface winds are likely to be strong and gusty during the day time. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards afternoon/evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 40 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively on Friday.

Meanwhile, though the maximum temperatures have climbed up in the mountainous regions too, the plains remain hotter while the weather in the mountains remains considerably cooler than in the plains.
