State govt extends Covid restrictions for two more weeks

Not prepared to take any chances on the pandemic front, the Uttarakhand government has increased the prevailing restrictions in the state to prevent the infection of Covid-19. These restrictions would remain enforced till October 19 now.

In an order the chief secretary of Uttarakhand, S S Sandhu said  on Monday that the marriage ceremonies, religious and political congregations would be allowed with 50 per cent of the capacity of the place where they are being held.  

The education institutes of the state would open but they would have to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 safety protocols.

Those travelling to the state should have to register on the portal of smart-city and they should produce a RT PCR negative test report not older than 72 hours from the time of arrival in the state. However those who have got both the doses of the vaccine would remain exempted from the compulsion of RT PCR test report.
