Following the success of the Vande Bharat train service, the railway department is preparing to introduce latest technology-equipped Vande Metro train service at the regional levels. The railway officials said that such metros would run between two towns with a distance from 100 to 300 kms. Work on the metro project connecting Dehradun with Kathgodam has already begun. The railway officials said that this project has been taken up to make the train journey between these two towns smooth and comfortable. They further said that Vande metro trains will be hydrogen fuel-powered, eco-friendly indigenous ones which are being designed by the engineers of the country. The final design of the Vande Metro trains is expected to come up by end of June. The railway officials claim that the starting of the Vande Metro trains would usher in revolutionary transformation of the Indian Railways.
