PWD attempting completion of road restoration before Diwali

The inconvenience being faced by the public due to various roads being dug up for civic works is expected to be resolved soon. Under the Dehradun smart city project, work on water supply lines is underway on various roads. After road cutting for the work, the restoration work is being undertaken by the Public Works Department for which the Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) is allocating the necessary funds to the PWD. A sum of Rs 3.3 crore has been transferred to the PWD for patch repair work on roads totalling in length to 18 kilometres in the city. DSCL has given clearance for 5.44 kilometres road restoration while PWD has done about 2.60 kilometres road restoration.

The DSCL CEO Ashish Kumar Srivastava informed that the PWD has started work on road restoration in places where road cutting was done as part of the smart city project. The department is attempting to complete the work before the festival of Diwali.
