Bharatiya Janata Party state president Madan Kaushik expressed confidence at the scope for the BJP to win the Vidhan Sabha elections with a thumping majority. He said that the party’s young leadership and commendable works undertaken by the double-engine government will ensure the party’s victory in the ensuing assembly polls. Meanwhile, senior leader and statehood activist Ravinder Jugran left the Aam Aadmi Party to return to the BJP on Saturday. Kaushik inducted him back into the party at a simple event held in the party’s media centre. Kaushik said that the party will certainly benefit from Jugran’s experience and capabilities in the assembly election. He said that Jugran had been a very dedicated and hardworking worker of the BJP. He is one of those few from the statehood movement who are still known as statehood activists by the people of Uttarakhand. He discharged his duties efficiently as a top student leader and also as a position holding state minister in the earlier state government of the BJP, said Kaushik.

Rejoining his old party, Jugran said that joining the BJP was like homecoming for him, while adding that in the past he had worked in the party organisation for 25 years. Jugran said that he was out of the party for some time but when it came to choosing the party capable of ensuring the state’s development and public welfare he could only think of the cultural nationalism of the BJP. The BJP state general secretary (Organisation) Ajey, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, senior party leader Prakash Suman Dhyani, Rajiv Talwar and others were also present on the occasion.
