More students return from war-affected Ukraine

Six more students belonging to Uttarakhand returned from Ukraine on Tuesday. The students who returned to the nation alogn with other Indians on two different flights on Tuesday include Bhanu Pratap Singh Tomar from Dehradun, Kurban Ali from Haridwar, Manish Kumar Thapa from Dehradun, Kanhaiya from Haridwar, Prashant from Udham Singh Nagar and Riya Rawat from Pauri district.

The recent series of return of the Uttarakhandi students began on February 27 and since then at least 23 students from the state have returned from the war affected nation of Ukraine. On Tuesday, the six students of Uttarakhand who returned were received by additional resident commissioner Ajay Mishra, senior management officer Ranjan Mishra and assistant protocol officers Manoj Joshi and Deepak Chamoli among others from the state and family members of the students. It will be recalled that the Uttarakhand government is maintaining constant communication with the Government of India to facilitate the return of people hailing from Uttarakhand from the war afflicted Ukraine. The State government has also stressed that it is committed to ensuring the safe return of all its citizens from Ukraine.
