The general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) and party in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi would address three public meetings in Uttarakhand in support of party candidates on Saturday. She would address rallies at Khatima, Haldwani and Srinagar assembly constituencies. By addressing rallies in both Kumaon and Garhwal, Gandhi would try to end the campaign of the party on a high note in both regions of Uttarakhand. As per the schedule Prityanka would address the first rally at Atal Utkrisht Tharu Inter College Khatima in support of Congress candidate and officiating president of Uttarakhand Congress Bhuwan Kapdi at 11.45 AM. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is contesting the election from this constituency. After Khatima she would address a public meeting at MB PG inter college ground Haldwani at 1 PM.
Here the Congress has fielded Sumit Hridayesh who is son of late Indira Hridayesh. Priyanka would address her third public meeting at NIT ground Srinagar Garhwal. Srinagar is considered as the heart of Garhwal region of the state. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal is the Congress candidate from Srinagar and he is locked in a tough contest with the cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat from here. The Congress believes that Priyanka would negate the effect generated by the rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The PM addressed a well attended rally in Srinagar on Thursday.
