Pokhari fair of Chamoli given status of State Fair

The famous Pokhari Fair of Chamoli district has been given the status of a ‘State Fair’. This announcement was made by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the winter fair named after the famous poet Chandra Kunwar Bartwal in Chamoli on Tuesday. He also inaugurated a tourist bungalow in Pokhari constructed at a cost of Rs 97.30 Lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that Bartwal who depicted nature in all its splendor had given a treasure trove full of Hindi poems to the Hindi literature at the age of only 28 years. He said that Bartwal in his small journey wrote more than 700 poems, songs and essays.

The CM said that the state government is consistently for rural empowerment. He announced that the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Tapowan Dhak ( Joshimath) would be named after former president of Badri Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC) Mohan Prasad Thapliyal. He also made many other announcements for the area.

The Badrinath MLA Mahendra Bhatt and others were present on the occasion.
