Pauri DM issues orders to ensure road safety

A meeting of district level road safety committee was held in collectorate meeting hall which was presided by Pauri district magistrate VijayJogdande on Friday. Jogdande instructed the officers of the police, traffic, transport department, PWD, National Highways Authourityof India and health department to work towards prevention of road accidents and aid the victims.  Thirteen points were discussed in the meeting and strict instructions were given to the departmental officials concerned.

Jogdande instructed chief medical officer to propose trauma centre in such a place where there is no medical facility.He also instructed to appoint specialist doctors, nurses and required machinery in trauma centre and hospitals. The DM directed the officials concerned to complete the construction work immediately and make proposals, DPR for other works and send these to the State administration. He asked the transport department to collect the details of the works completed, pending works and works for which proposal or DPR is required from the department associated with road safety.He also instructed that where the roads are narrow or dangerous, the construction of parapets should be completed along with provision of reflector, paintings and improvement works.                                                Senior superintendent of police Yashwant Singh Chauhan also instructed the officer of local bodies including municipalities and Nagar Panchayats of the district to establish coordination with animal husbandary department to control the stray animals on the road and frame work plan to remove stray animals from the road to prevent any mishap due to the stray animals.  Additional district magistrate Ila Giri, RTO Anita Chand, chief medical officer Praveen Kumar, ARTO Pankaj Srivastava, Pauri municipality executive officer Pradeep Bisht and other officials concerned were also present in the meeting.
