Death of 20 patients reported on Tuesday

The trend of high fatalities and fewer fresh cases of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) is continuing in Uttarakhand. On Tuesday, the state health department reported the death of 20 patients of Covid-19 from different hospitals of the state. The state has so far witnessed the death of 782 patients of the disease. The authorities reported 294 fresh cases of the disease on Tuesday after which the tally of Covid-19 climbed to 55641 in the state. Meanwhile the positive trend of high recoveries is also continuing in Uttarakhand. The authorities declared 665 patients free from the disease on Tuesday. A total of 47971 patients have so far recovered from Covid-19 in the state. The recovery percentage is also witnessing a northward trend with more recoveries than new cases of the disease. The recovery percentage is now at 84.18 percent and the Infection Rate (IR) is at 6.83 percent. The disease is taking 84.18 days to double its numbers in Uttarakhand.

Five patients of Covid-19 were reported dead from Himalayan hospital Dehradun on Tuesday. Four patients were reported dead at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Tuesday.  In Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun two patients of Covid-19 succumbed to the disease while a similar number of deaths were reported from Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani. One person each succumbed to death due Covid-19 in Max, Synergy and Kanishka hospital Dehradun.

The health department reported 72 fresh cases of Covid-19 from Dehradun, 38 from Udham Singh Nagar, 35 from Uttarkashi, 26 from Pauri Garhwal, 22 from Haridwar, 21 each from Tehri and Chamoli, 17 from Nainital, 14 from Pithoragarh, 12 from Almora, nine from Bageshwar, four from Champawat and three from Rudraprayag district on Tuesday. The state now has 6576 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district with 1850 active cases is at top of table while Haridwar with 1090 active cases is on second spot. Nainital has 664, Udham Singh Nagar 572, Tehri 438, Pauri 422, Uttarkashi 415, Chamoli 281, Pithoragarh 215, Rudraprayag 197, Champawat 165, and Almora 141 active cases of the disease. With 126 active cases of Covid-19, Bageshwar is at the bottom of the table of active cases in Uttarakhand.
