Covid-19; 2,630 new cases, 12 deaths & 708 recoveries reported in State on Sunday

A total of 2,630 new Covid positive cases were reported in the state on Sunday while 708 patients recovered and 12 patients died from the disease on the same day. The State now has a total of 17,293 active cases of Covid with a recovery rate of 82.53 per cent and a sample positivity of 3.72 per cent.

According to health department data, so far 1,24,033 cumulative cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the state so far of which 1,02,367 have been cured. With a total 1,868 deaths of Covid patients being reported so far, the fatality rate of the disease currently stands at 1.51 per cent in the state.

Out of the total positive cases reported in the state on Sunday, 1,281 are in Dehradun district, 572 in Haridwar, 186 in Nainital and 161 in Udham Singh Nagar. Among the other districts, 133 cases were reported in Pauri, 129 in Tehri, 61 in Chamoli, 20 in Almora, 15 each in Bageshwar and Champawat, 25 in Uttarkashi, 14 in Pithoragarh and 18 in Rudraprayag. When it comes to the number of active cases, Dehradun district remains at the top of the list with 7,342 cases followed by Haridwar with 4,893 cases and Nainital with 1,665 cases. Among the other districts, there are 913 active cases in Udham Singh Nagar, 731 in Pauri, 528 in Tehri, 250 in Almora, 234 in Champawat, 227 in Rudraprayag, 171 in Chamoli, 138 in Bageshwar, 101 in Pithoragarh and 100 in Uttarkashi. Meanwhile, the number of containment zones in the state has increased to 86. There are 44 containment zones in Dehradun district, 26 in Nainital, eight in Haridwar, three each in Pauri and Champawat and one each in Uttarkashi and Udham Singh Nagar.

No vaccination was conducted on Sunday due to the weekend Covid curfew imposed across the state.
