Multiple roads remain blocked, authorities struggle to restore connectivity

The authorities are working to reopen blocked roads but debris and other factors continued to cause blockages on roads in various parts of the State on Monday. According to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), in Uttarkashi district the Rishikesh-Yamunotri national highway remained blocked on Monday due to consistent debris/boulders. One national highway, one main district road and 35 rural motor roads were blocked in the district.

In Tehri district one State highway, one main district road and 16 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked while in Chamoli district the Rishikesh-Badrinath national highway was blocked due to washout on a 100 metre stretch near Nandprayag and Kameda. The alternate route is also blocked by debris. The Karnprayag-Gairsain national highway was reported to be blocked due to washout near Kalimati. One State highway and 45 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the district. One rural motor road was blocked in Almora district, one State highway and one rural motor road were blocked in Nainital while one State highway and five rural motor roads were blocked in Haridwar district.

In Rudraprayag district a total of 28 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked while one State highway and 40 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Dehradun district. One State highway and two rural motor roads were blocked in Bageshwar district, two State highways, one main district road and 39 rural motor roads were blocked in Pauri district, 11 rural motor roads were blocked in Champawat district while in the Pithoragarh district two border roads and 16 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked.
