MP minister’s remark on Col Qureshi exposes BJP’s mentality: Rautela

The workers of Uttarakhand Mahila Congress burned the effigy of Vijay Shah, a minister in Madhya Pradesh government for insulting Army officer Colonel Sofia Qureshi on Wednesday. The workers led by president of State Mahila Congress Jyoti Rautela assembled at the State party office in the morning and then marched to the Astley Hall where they consigned the effigy of MP Minister to flames. Shah had called Col Qureshi a sister of terrorists and Pakistanis.
Addressing the gathering, Rautela said that Shah has insulted not only Col Qureshi but also the Indian Army and the women of the country. She said that Shah has also insulted the valour, bravery and dignity of the Indian Army and has attacked the self-respect of India’s daughters. Rautela said that Shah’s statement shows his perverted mentality and the mindset of BJP.
She said Colonel Qureshi is not only a brave military officer but she has also set an example of women empowerment in India. Her insult exposes the BJP’s anti-women mentality.
She said that though Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP repeatedly raise rhetoric of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao but in practice the BJP leaders insult women.
Rautela said that Shah should immediately be removed from his post and should be prosecuted for treason for this indecent comment.
