Health ATMs benefitting pilgrims & locals on Yatra route: CM

 Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is committed to provide good and easily accessible health services to the pilgrims visiting the State for the Char Dham Yatra and the Health department is working with much seriousness to fulfill it. He was speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of inaugurating 50 health ATMs provided by the Hewlit Packard Enterprises (HPE) at his residence on Monday. He said that these ATMs are being installed on the Char Dham Yatra route and apart from the pilgrims they are becoming useful for the local people. He opined that the health ATM is one of an important development of the medical profession for providing easy and cheap primary and curative health services and added that it is helping in filling the gap between the rural and urban health services. 

A memorandum of understanding between the Health department and HPE for setting up 25 health ATMs for the Mansarovar Yatra in the Kumaon region was also inked on the occasion.
Dhami informed that more than 1,700 people in different parts of the State have done their health check up from the health ATMs. Averring that the people are getting benefit of the ATMs he added that proper maintenance and smooth operation of these ATMs is also needed.

He said that the health department has issued guidelines for the pilgrims for the Yatra and they should follow them. They should also remain updated on weather condition and make travel plans accordingly. He said that the HPE has installed 50 cloud capable health kiosks (ATMs) on the Yatra routes. These ATMs are the one stop digital touch point integrated machines provided for the telemedicine services on the Yatra route. These ATMs are installed at the places where the pilgrims rest during the Yatra. A total 70 investigations including blood pressure (BP), sugar, body temperature, oxygen level, BMI, body fat index, dehydration and pulse rate are being done free of cost in these health ATMs. 

The health sercreatry R Rajesh Kumar, additional secreatary Amandeep Kaur, director general of health services, Dr Vinita Shah and  senior officers of the HPE were present on the occasion.
