Model exhibition on climate change held at KU

The department of Botany, Dev Singh Bisht Campus, Kumaun University organised a model exhibition on the topic of global climate change in which the students of MSc fourth semester participated and highlighted the serious effects of climate change through creative models made on greenhouse effect, melting of polar glaciers, carbon footprint, climate friendly farming, deforestation and renewable energy sources among others.
The programme coordinator, Hem Chandra Joshi said that such exhibitions help develop a deep and practical understanding of the subject in the students. The head of the department of Botany, Prof Lalit Tiwari said that such educational innovations promote the spirit of research, environmental awareness and the culture of group work among the students.
At the end of the exhibition, certificates were distributed to the participating students and the winners were awarded by the department. The department said that they would continue to hold such exhibitions in future as well.
