Kumaun University VC interacts with teachers

In latest Uttarakhand news, the vice-chancellor of Kumaun University Diwan
Singh Rawat had a direct conversation with the teachers in the DSB campus of the university in Nainital. The VC during the dialogue stressed on the quality education, academic
environment, research and innovation among others.  He reminded the teachers that for them, the interests of the students are paramount and the teachers would be remembered only for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the interests of the students and the institutions they are serving. He said that the image of any educational institution depends on what the students experience while studying.
He further averred that the teaching should be kept completely unbiased and free from any political leanings.

While admitting that this university is lagging behind other renowned universities, the VC said that research work, promotion of technology and enhancement of teaching methods along with character building of the students can help the university move forward.  He assured the teachers that the university administration is taking all possible steps to redress their grievances. Prompt actions will be taken if the situations so warrant, he said and added that the teachers, employees and students can register their complaints on the university website. “If the complaints are not addressed in six working days they are free to send email to me apprising me of what the complaints are all about,” Rawat said.
