Maharaj reviews progress of Tehri Lake ring road project

In latest news from Dehradun, the State PWD, culture and tourism minister Satpal Maharaj chaired a meeting convened to review the progress of the Tehri Lake City Development Project and discuss some matters related to the State culture department and the manual of the Sri Bardi-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC) at the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board office in Garhi Cantt. While the BKTC manual was taken up for discussion first it was followed by the discussion on some issues related to the culture department like speeding the delayed payment to the artistes and increasing the funds allocated for the State-sponsored fairs.   Then, the matters pertaining to the Rs 7708 crore- Tehri Lake City Development Project with particular stress on the under-construction ring roads came up. The minister deliberated on the feasibility, inspection and land acquisition of the project with senior officers of the department.  He later said that Rs 124 crore would be spent for building the 234 km-long ring road and added that on the completion of the project, about 84,000 people from 173 villages would be benefitted.
