Home Dept gears up to implement Shah’s suggestions

Following the orders of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for implementation of the suggestions given by Union Home minister Amit Shah, the State administration has come into an active mode. On Tuesday the additional chief secretary (ACS) Radha Raturi chaired a meeting of the officers of the Home department and discussed the pending issues of the department. The Union Home minister during his review meeting had directed disposal of the pending issues.

The ACS directed the police headquarters to prepare and submit a proposal regarding the qualitative training to the officers and police personnel. The PHQ has also been asked to prepare a clear proposal regarding setting up of SISF and tourist police. In the meeting the ACS directed the PHQ to study the model jail manual and Model Jail Act 2023 of the Home ministry and implement them in the State with necessary amendments. During his recent visit to Uttarakhand, the Union Home minister had also directed the State to prevent smuggling of drugs. In this context the ACS directed that the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) should be set up in a time bound manner and added that the district level meetings of the Narcotics Coordination Centre (NCORD) should be held every month. The department would seek support of the National Investigation Agency and Narcotics Control Bureau in the cases involving sensitive aspects having international ramifications. Raturi said that the compulsion of getting the hotels to fill C forms by the foreign nationals should be strictly adhered to. The ACS also directed that a proposal regarding vehicle scrapping policy should be prepared.
